Although the company was founded in the late 1800s, the Biondi family has owned the vineyards since the 1600s. Maximum production was achieved in the period between the two world wars, thanks to the dedication of Salvatore Biondi, Ciro's great-uncle and the experience in growing the vine of Ciro's grandfather, Cirino

In the early 1900s, they participated in wine and sample fairs, together with their partner Lanzafame, winning a collection of medals and prizes for their wine, which was bottled and labeled 'Biondi - Lanzafame'. These awards include Casalmonferato 1913, Paris 1914, Lyon 1914, Cuneo 1914 and Milan 1914 and were also included in the "Great Golden Book" (For Royal Appointment to King Victor Emmanuel III). However, towards the end of World War II, the company experienced a period of decline after Salvatore's premature death, the failed readjustment to modern technologies and the new post-war market. Since 1999, Ciro and his wife Stephanie have been responsible for both vineyard maintenance and winemaking. They managed to restore the 6 hectares owned by the family, leading to the birth of Outis and the production of high-quality wines, rediscovering the enormous potential of volcanic "terroir" and its native grape varieties.
